First Successful Hand Transplant at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences.
India's first hand transplant was carried out successfully at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, on January 13, 2015. More than 100 successful hand transplants have been done for several years.

Paris-based international charity organization, The Heart Fund, has tied-up with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) to provide free life-saving open-heart surgeries and endovascular treatments to poor in India. So far, 20 children have benefited from this programme.
