|Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences ties-up with Paris-based The Heart Fund to save children with heart ailments.
Paris-based international charity organization, The Heart Fund, has tied-up with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) to provide free life-saving open-heart surgeries and endovascular treatments to poor in India. So far, 20 children have benefited from this programme.

On December 6th, 2014 in a packed auditorium attended by all the leading lights in Nanotechnology in India, on the occasion of Bangalore India Nano 2014, Professor CNR Rao, Bharat Ratna of India, announced that Professor Shantikumar Nair, Dean of Research, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, is the recipient of the 2014 Professor CNR Rao India Nanoscience Award.
|The Paediatric Heart Program at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences wins the prestigious British Medical Journal (BMJ) - India 2014 Health Care Award.
The award, considered to be the Oscar in the medical field, was given to the Paediatric Heart Program at AIMS for continuously striving for excellence in the complex area of delivering high quality, affordable cardiac care to children with heart defects.
