Pre-Clinical Laboratory |
| |
Nursing is an art and science that needs a
lot of practice. The pre-clinical lab is the
practical area of the students where they perform all
nursing procedures prior to the exposure to the
clinical field. The faculty uses the lab for various
demonstrations of procedures in nursing. This
spacious laboratory is well equipped with a chase
doll, patient simulator, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
mannequin, life form hand simulator etc. in
addition to the facilities in an ideal ward situation. |

Community Health Laboratory |

In this lab, the students practise bag technique
required for family health-care and
prepare the materials needed for health education,
school health programme, health camps, exhibitions
and projects. Community Health Nursing
experience is provided to the students at Public
Health Centres (PHCs) in addition to AIMS' community
health centre. |

Maternal And Child Health Nursing Laboratory |

This lab consists of various obstetrical charts
related to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal
care and models to practise conduct of labour.This also includes a baby mannequin to practise
paediatric nursing procedures, growth chart,
immunisation schedule and play materials for
different age group.

Nutrition Laboratory |

Here the students learn to prepare
normal diets and therapeutic diets for
various disease conditions without losing nutrients
under the guidance of a qualified dietitian. They will
also use this lab to prepare different types of exhibits
required to conduct various health educational
programmes |

Computer Laboratory |

The computer laboratory enables students
to develop their abilities in the application
of software in health and education. |

Library |

The College of Nursing Library has
around 2,500 textbooks comprising a wide range of rare imported and Indian nursing texts and
journals. In addition, about 500 books are added
every year.
Apart from this each of the major departments
have their collection of books which cater to
the respective area of specialisation. There is a
central library which is located in the medical
college complex. This facility comprises 15,000
books, 175 foreign journals and 62 Indian medical
journals to which the nursing students also have
access. The library offers internet facilities and an
excellent intranet "Amrita Vidya" programme
provides for information on the latest advancements
& accomplishments of the various disciplines
in the hospital. |
