charitable tribal outreach program continues... |
India’s huge population requires maximum efficiency in the healthcare sector to serve the immense patient population. How to care for the large number of patients and still maintain a connection with them as human beings is a major challenge for health care institutions and professionals both in India and all over the world. One small hospital, the Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospital (AKCH) in North Kerala provides a model on how to do the most for a large and neglected patient population, with minimal resources and staff, in an efficient and caring manner. AKCH in the Wayanad District of Kerala is a model of both efficiency and humanity. Opened in 2004, the charitable hospital’s focus is on the area’s underserved Adivasi population. The Adivasi people receive all treatment and medicine free of charge. Others pay ten to fifteen rupees (approximately twenty-five cents US dollar) per visit. |

One Day Seminar On Deafness And Rehabilitation |
Hearing assessment is really an important task especially in newborns and children. A multi disciplinary approach is required for the early detection and management of hearing impairment in this group, as it is an extremely difficult situation to rehabilitate. Early identification and correction of deafness allows a child to lead a normal life instead of being stamped as a ‘handicapped’, and becoming a burden on the society. Hence awareness among all health care providers including ENT surgeons, Audiologists, Neonatologists, Pediatricians, Neurologists, General practitioners and Paramedical staff is essential. |
