| Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) |
 |
Our 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with quantum gradients is among the most advanced equipment in India. This scanner is very fast, requiring only 15 minutes for a routine scan, greatly enhancing patient comfort. Capabilities include diffusion imaging for hyperacute stroke detection, proton spectroscopy for tumor evaluation and MRCP for non-invasive liver, gallbladder and pancreatic imaging, and functional MRI studies for brain mapping and epilepsy localization. The medical community in Kerala now has access to state-of-the-art neuro, orthopedic, and body imaging at an affordable cost.

| CT Scanner |
| The CT Scanner is a high end spiral scanner which provides high resolution imaging. Commonly known as "CAT scans", this technique takes multiple, "cross-sectional" images of the body, which can then be reconstructed and displayed as three-dimensional images by a computer. Reconstructed images permit CT angioscopy for aneurysms, CT endoscopy, CT bronchoscopy, and CT cystoscopy. A continuous helical acquisition provides a 3-D volume scan which allows a radiologist to better localize very small tumours. |

| Digital Subtraction Angiography |
 |
The Digital Subtraction Angiography facility at AIMS is one of only two sites in the state of Kerala. This highly sophisticated equipment provides crystal clear images of abdominal, renal, cerebral and peripheral blood vessels for the diagnosis of patients with gastrointestinal as well as peripheral vascular and neurological problems.
Among the many important procedures and treatments possible with the use of this equipment are balloon dilation and stenting to repair and maintain obstructed vessels, embolizations to eliminate bleeding, CT-scan guided biopsies/drainage, contrast radiography, localized chemotherapy, and tumour ablation.

| Radiology Information System (RIS) |
| An automated Radiology Information System (RIS) manages the department's operations. The functionality includes scheduling, patient and image tracking, and the rapid retrieval of diagnostic reports. The RIS is integrated with the Hospital Information System (HIS), to provide an efficient environment for users to collect, process, and manage data. |

| Color Doppler Ultrasound Studies |

|
AIMS has advanced Colour Doppler Ultrasound Scanners available and offer studies of the carotids, peripheral vessels, abdominal and renal vessels. These scans of the body's blood vessels are an essential investigation of patients with blood vessel related problems. |
