            Out patient procedures:

The out patient department has facility to take care of all office urology procedures. It is supported by trained staff including two staff nurses, blood draw facilities, full fledged procedure rooms, dedicated X-ray machines, ultra sound equipments etc. The department is supported by radiology and nuclear medicine departments, which have all the modern equipments including MDCT and PET CT.

Uro radiology

Ultra sound machine: The department has its own B-K ultra sound machine apart from the facility available in radiology to do ultra sound guided procedures like TRUSS guided prostate biopsy, percutaneous nephrostomy, ultra sound guided aspirations etc. It has a dedicated TRUSS probe for accurate prostate biopsy to diagnose prostate cancer. The department has separate radiology suite for doing procedures like MCU, RGU.

It is supported by a radiology Department with all modern equipments including
  • CT: MD CT ( Seimens sensation 64) , Seimens Ct scan
  • MRI: GE HD xT, Magnotom symphony classic
  • Most modern invasive radiology suite.
  • Ultra sound section having 4 ultra sound machine
  • A mobile USG and X ray unit
  • Image guided Radiofrequency ablation equipments used in the minimally
  • Invasive treatment of tumors

  • Seimens double head Gamma camera: Used for all procedures including diagnostic services like bone scan, DTPA scan, DMSA scan, MAG3, Therapeutic procedures in carcinoma prostate etc
Uro Dymnamics:

Two uroflow meters and Labourie Janus urodynamics machine: These are used for assessing the urine flow and evaluating neurogenic bladder.

Flexible cystoscopy:

Two Karl Storz flexible cystoscopes. These are used in the evaluation of hematuria to rule out bladder malignancies and in follow up of bladder cancer to diagnose early recurrence. It avoids anesthesia during routine cystoscopy as the procedure is pain less.

ESWL: Dornier compact sigma lithotriptor is used for extra corporeal lithotripsy. The machine is handled by a uro- technician well experienced and trained in the procedure under the supervision of urologists.
            Operation Theatre:

The operation theatre has stainless steel wall, laminar airflow and is provided with all the modern equipments.

It has all equipments for general urology works that includes
  • Wolf ureteroscopes, Wolf nephroscopes, Karl Storz cystoscopes, resectoscopes, pediatric cystoscopes etc.

Laparoscopic urology:

The department is recognized as one of he apex centers in laparoscopic urology. Both laparoscopic and retroperitoneoscopic surgeries including
  • Laparoscopic and retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy,

  • Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy :
    Donor nephrectomy is routinely done with laparoscopy if there are no specific contra indications. We have the Largent series of laparoscopic adrenalectomy in the country (more than 130 cases). Also we have presented he first retroperitoneoscopic right sided donor nephrectomy in the country.
